I have zero problems with female action stars, I can have suspension of disbelief and watch a 100lb girl take out a dozen special forces men (despite women never being allowed in any ELITE military positions ever.) That’s fine and dandy. What I have a problem is the constant need to shove the whole “woo girl power! woo feminism!” followed by snide gender remarks down our throats every two seconds. That’s what bothers me. Back in the 90s movies didn’t need to do that with their female action stars (Terminator, Alien,etc) even most of the Angelina Jolie movies. But now days it’s like they are pushing narratives that don’t need pushing. We’ve already proven we have zero problem with female leads in action movies with the success of Terminator, Alien, Tomb Raider,etc. I hate movies that are ultimately supposed to be brain dead fun pushing agendas.
